Bill has lived in the Reno area for 37 years and enjoys the wide variety of activities Reno offers. This includes golfing, skiing, and attending local concerts, University sporting events, and special city wide events. He has 2 children who live in Reno and 5 grandchildren who keep him busy.

Yolanda is also a doting mother to son, Gregory, rooting on the sidelines at each of his basketball and baseball games. She also enjoys playing golf, skiing, poker and beating all the boys at fantasy football!

Paul Wong

Director of Asian Marketing

Paul's gaming experience began some forty years ago on the other side of the world, in Macao. Over 30 years ago, he moved to the U.S. and worked at various positions in the gaming industry, including as a casino host.

For nearly 10 years, Paul worked as a regional executive, arranging gaming trips to some of the finest resorts in Nevada for customers all over northern California. His regional customer knowledge and strong affiliation with and understanding of the Asian market landed him at the Peppermill as Director of Asian Marketing for the last 10 years.

Paul also holds the distinct honor of Goodwill Ambassador to Hong Kong for the City of Reno.

Virender Bali

Director of Player Development

After finishing his Business Administration degree in India, Bali set his sights on the U.S. and came to America in 1988. Within the same year, he joined the gaming industry here in Reno, becoming an executive casino host in 1989 and it's safe to say he has never looked back!

Twenty years of experience has allowed Bali to hone his craft - providing the best service possible for his guests. In fact, Bali will tell you that he is passionate about ensuring his guests' comfort and enjoyment while here at the Peppermill, and leaves no detail unattended.

Family is very important to Bali, and when he is not tending to his Peppermill "family" of guests, he makes it a point to spend quality time with his wife and children at home.

Kevin Brantner

Director of Player Development

Kevin was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, where he also began his career in the hotel business in 1991.

In 1997, he decided to make the move to Reno and continued his career in the same industry at Silver Legacy in their card center and VIP room. About a year later, the Peppermill welcomed Kevin with open arms and gave him a position as a VIP agent. In February of 2000, he was promoted to Executive Casino Host and still continued to climb the ladder of success reaching his current position as Director of Player Development.

He enjoys sports, poker, gambling and travelling with family. Of course, there is little time for that when coaching his two sons' sports teams takes precedent. He also loves to beat his friends in Fantasy Football.

Jerry Daane

Director of Player Development

Hailing from Sturgis, South Dakota, Jerry headed west and cut his teeth in the casino business, working for many years at Harrah's. He started as a dealer, then boxman and from there, as floor man, proceeding to pit administrator, and then acting Pit Manager.

In 1984, while working for Harrah's, Jerry saw a need, and through his own effort and determination to develop relationships and exceed the expectations of his casino guests, he "founded" the position of casino host. Since 1993, Jerry has been with the Peppermill, still hard at work maintaining old relationships and fostering new ones.

In his time off, Jerry's hobbies include hunting, golf, fishing, and sporting clays with his wife.

Preston Davis

Director of Player Development

One summer many years ago, a UNR college student took a job in the gaming business. Today we warmly refer to him as a host with the most.

Preston's long-time affiliation with the Peppermill (over 20 years) has garnered him a deep insight and wisdom into the casino industry as well as what is important to his guests. His easy-going style personifies what guests love and has allowed Preston to build not just relationships, but true friendships as well.

If you ask Preston, he'll tell you that the Peppermill has been very good to him and is certainly the number one resort, and we couldn't agree with him more!

Gary Yasumoto

Director of Player Development

Born and raised in Sunnyvale, California, Gary was always taken on family vacations to the Northern Nevada area. Even as a little kid he thought this area was the best area in the entire world. Now that he has lived here for a couple of decades he has proved himself correct!

For almost twenty years he had worked for Harrah's and Harvey's Lake Tahoe. He started out carrying change which he calls "the most humbling experience of my life". He moved into Slots Management with Harrah's and decided to leave after 7 years for greener pastures at Harveys. Gary continued with Slot Management until promoted to an Executive Casino Host in 1999. He decided to leave Lake Tahoe as a Senior Executive Casino Host and take on new endeavors here at the beautiful Peppermill in Reno.

His hobbies are sports and gaming. Some call him a sports "junkie". He loves to golf but thinks he could stand a few lessons. His golf buddies have given him the nickname "sand bagger." He also loves spending time with his family and friends. He currently resides in Carson City with his beautiful wife Sylvia and she definitely deserves a medal putting up with him! Gary is a proud father of two grown daughters and rests well knowing they are now taken care of by the great men they have found.

Chris Bak

Executive Casino Host

Chris has worked in the casino business for many years and has a long affiliation with the Peppermill. She even met her husband of 16 years, Ziggy, here (talk about an extra perk!) Her warm smile and energy radiates to everyone and everything she does - whether it's making sure her guests have the best time at a New Year's party or showing her Steelers colors at the Super Party Bash, you can count on Chris to make it memorable!

Chris enjoys sports (go Steelers), gets away to Mexico each year, and takes advantage of the warm summer weather here in Reno, camping with her husband and daughter, Kim. On one of their many camping excursions, they shared their campsite with an uninvited guest - a bear! And we're sure that Chris made him feel right at home too.

Doug McIver

Executive Casino Host

Doug was raised in southern California and graduated with a degree in History from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. He headed north and began his gaming career in 1986 at Harveys Lake Tahoe in the casino marketing office, progressing to executive casino host and eventually, assistant general manager.

In 1996, Doug opened and ran Harveys' regional marketing office in Sacramento until 1999. Two years later, he joined the Peppermill, working to create exciting and memorable stays for his many guests.

Father of three boys and married to English wife, Hyacinth, Doug enjoys traveling, golf, movies, martial arts and of course, the Green Bay Packers!

Matt Niedzwieki

Executive Casino Host

You might say that Matt is lucky in love - love of the casino industry that is! Born in Poland, Matt came to Reno in 1999 for what was to be a one-time experience working in the casino business. He loved it so much, that one time just wasn't enough and he returned three additional times!

Matt's dedication to his valued guests and the work he loves is exemplified in everything he does and since 2005, he's been giving it his all here at the Peppermill.

Matt revels in the sporting life when he can and spends his free time fly fishing, trekking through the mountains, camping and traveling to remote areas. He counts his flight in a Mustang P-51 as one of his most exciting adventures to date!

Maggie Scott

Director of Player Development

One of seven children, Maggie is no stranger to the concept of helping others! She began her casino career in 1979 in the beverage department and from there, made her way into the world of gaming; becoming a craps and blackjack dealer and eventually a pit floor supervisor.

Her understanding and skill on the gaming floor coupled with her easy way with guests provided a natural affinity toward casino hosting and in 1996, Maggie found her niche as an executive casino host. She has been an integral member of the host team here at the Peppermill since 2005.

Away from the Peppermill, Maggie "relaxes" each morning with a six-mile walk. She shares her life with husband of 32 years, Mike, and their two Norwich Terriers, Miles and Ella.
